Fujifilm FinePix XP10 Camera Review

Fujifilm FinePix XP10
The FinePix XP10, Fujifilm’s all-terrain and all-weather compact camera, sports a 12.1 CCD optical sensor and a 5x periscopic optical zoom lens. In vein of cameras like the Panasonic Lumix TS3, this camera is meant to be taken underwater and other extreme environments. This is thanks to a weather and shock-proof design among several performance and convenience features.
Design and Features
This rugged shooter is encased in a curved weather-resistant frame that comes in five colors: hot pink, blue, neon green, silver and black. Up front, you’ll notice that the camera’s lens is protected by a reinforced barrier as is its built-in flash. The back end of the FinePix XP10 is taken up by its 2.7-inch LCD, control wheel and zoom buttons. Because of its full-metal design, this camera can function three meters deep underwater, survive a fall of three feet and withstand temperatures as cold as 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

Inside, the Fujifilm FinePix XP10 is equipped with digital image stabilization, which automatically increases shutter speed to compensate for blurring subjects. For indoor or low-light shooting conditions, this point-and-shoot sports a max ISO of 1,600. This camera is also capable of recording 720p HD video at 30 frames per second and allows for zoom while taping. Also included is a Scene Recognition Auto feature that will automatically adjust the camera’s settings from six scenes based on lighting conditions and the contents of the frame.
Extending its portrait features is a series of face detection features including the ability to focus on six faces at once and instant red-eye correction. The FinePix XP10 can also capture moving subjects within its frame through its Tracking Auto Focus. This shooter also comes equipped with a Natural Light with Flash mode, which captures two images of the same scene. First, it shoots with both natural light and high sensitivity and then takes an image with Intelligent Flash. Finally, the XP10 can handle basic in-camera editing and then upload to web services like Facebook and YouTube in fewer steps through Fujifilm’s MyFinePix Studio.
