Panasonic TC-P42ST30 HDTV Review

Panasonic TC-P42ST30
Panasonic TC-P42ST30 ($1,099.95 direct) is a 42-inch, 3D-ready plasma HDTV with a 1,920 by 1,080 resolution and a 600Hz sub field drive—a plasma display’s refresh rate. While active shutter 3D glasses aren’t included, this model sports several Viera features and a built-in wireless LAN adapter.
Design and Features
This Viera model features a slim profile and sharp-angled design. A glossy black bezel surrounds the plasma screen, all of which sits on a stand that can swivel 15 degrees. The set also boasts near-invisible speakers. As for connectivity options, this set packs three HDMI inputs, one composite, component and digital audio input each. Panasonic also made room for two USB 2.0 ports, an ethernet port and an integrated ATSC TV tuner.
Other components you’ll find inside this TV include motion noise reduction and 2D to 3D conversion options. Thanks to its 600Hz sub field drive and other factors, the TC-P42ST30 also sports Infinite Black 2, Panasonic’s contrast ratio. For improved 3D images, this model has a 24p cinema smoother feature, meaning its more resistant to the effects of camera shake when playing video content.
